Aftersales - FAQ's

What is wrong with my timepiece?

Q. What is a movement maintenance and overhaul and why does my timepiece need one?

A. Over time, lubrication in the movement dries, causing dirt or other impurities to adversely affect the movement's operation. A movement service is designed to clean and replace worn parts and oil. Additionally, the movement will be adjusted and regulated as well as sealed and water-tested.

Conducting maintenance every three years is recommended to keep your timepiece functioning at its best.

Q.What is the level of water resistance for my timepiece?

A. It depends on the timepiece. Water resistance information is found on the case back of most new timepiece.

Please refer to the water resistance chart for additional details directly.

Q. Which water activities am I allowed to perform wearing my watch?

A.

Resistance (Meters) Resistance (Feet) Allowed Activities

0-10 0-33 Washing hands, rain
30 100 Showering, washing car
50 165 Swimming
100 350 Diving
200 660 Scuba Diving
Not recommended Sauna, steam bath

Q.I cannot figure out how my chronograph dials work?

A.Please refer to the instruction book that came with your watch.

Q.Is the crystal scratch-resistant?

A.Sapphire crystals, found on many Tommy Hilfiger Watches, are scratch resistant. However, no crystal is 'scratch-proof,' so scratches may appear after extended or rough use.

Crystals that experience extensive scratching may have to be replaced.

Q.Why does my automatic timepiece stop after not wearing it for a while?

A.Automatic movements are powered through winding and natural arm motion. When fully powered, the movement will operate normally for 24-40 hours. However, if the movement is not re-wound, or there is insufficient arm motion, the timepiece will eventually lose power.

Please refer to the instruction manual or contact us for additional information.

Q.What causes my timepiece to be slow or my second-hand to "jump"?

A.In all likelihood your battery voltage is low and it needs to be replaced. Please contact us to have the battery replaced by an Authorised Facility.

Q.How can I receive a catalogue or current price list?

A.If you would like to receive a catalogue please call 01428 664700.
